Anyone realised all my GBBO bakes are coloured brown and gold? No? Ok good, because here’s one more.
A simple sponge topped with butter icing. I generally just beat some butter (controversially salted) and keep adding icing sugar until it ceases tasting buttery and loses the yellow colour. Then a dash of milk if you need it more liquid for piping. I always add any flavouring/ colouring e.g. cocoa at the end once you have an icing base, that way it’ll taste good and you can adjust with extra icing sugar if you overdo it on your chosen flavouring.
Then I just topped with halved, leftover (shocking, I know) Cadbury heroes chocolates so their fillings ooze out.
